The JAHADI Affix (previously a Prefix) is under the joint ownership
of Lesley-Anne and Dan James.
Attended their first show as Adults in June 1961 showing a 7 month Puppy,
winning Best Puppy and Best of Breed
Since then have owned and exhibited Afghans continuously in every year to
the present day having been active for 47 years.
The JAHADI Affix is one of the oldest of current Kennels that are still in
operation today in UK since 1961.
First Championship judging appointment was in June 1971 in the breed.
Current one at Welks 2009
The Kennel was at the forefront of Importing Afghans from other Countries
since 1978 having imported more than any other Kennel in UK.
To date they have imported 7 Afghans from the following Countries, namely
West Germany (2) Ireland (1) France (3) and USA (1)
Produced a Litter with two Imports in 1982 With direct lines going back to
Ch Sirdar of Ghazni on which the entire UK Standard was based,
Holder of the World Record as a Breed Judge having judged 491 Entries on one
day as one judge at one show at Manchester 1973
Holds record for handling and winning Best in Show with an Afghan at 3
consecutive ALL BREED SHOWS in a period of 12 days
Imported the first ever Afghan into UK under the Pets Passport Scheme.
Apart from Afghans they have Owned and Exhibited in other Breeds, namely:
Rough Collies, Greyhounds, Miniature Poodles and Whippets.
Served on the Committee of Southern Afghan Breed Club.
Became only the second Secretary of Southern Afghan Breed Club and was the
Show Manager.
Served on the Committee of an ALL Breed Society, then became the Secretary
and Show Manager.
Originators of “The International” here in UK solely for all Overseas
Judges, becoming the largest One day Open Show in the World.
Both were the first Judges to be invited to Judge the Breed in Germany after
the war.
First asked to judge in USA in 1975 in New York.
Has officiated as an International Breed Judge on many occasions in;
Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Eire, East Germany, West Germany
and USA awarding both CACIB,s and CAC,s
Awarded Green Stars at Breed Shows in Ireland in 1974 and 1989
Have also received invitations to judge in Russia, Australia, New Zealand
Austria and 3 again in USA.
Has awarded International Tickets in Both Sexes of the breed.
Has Awarded International CACIB, s Overseas in other Breeds, namely: Irish
Wolfhounds, Whippets, Greyhounds Salukis and Galgos.
Has officiated as a Group Judge at an International Overseas show.
Offficiated at most Major prestige Shows such as Crufts, The Winners (in
Holland) the Bundeseiger (in West Germany), UICL show (in Germany) The
Brussels Europa and at National Show week in USA.
Here in the UK has judged other Breeds namely; Salukis, Dachshunds, Borzois,
Greyhounds, Whippets, Beagles, Basset Hounds. Dobermans (club show). Swedish
Vallhunds, GSD, Bichon, Min Pinschers
Also judged Non Classified and Varieties many times, on the Group System and
Best in Show at ALL BREED shows.
Appears on every Breed Club list And Breed Council List for countless years
in UK and has lectured on the Breed.
Bred first litter in 1972 And last current Litter was in 2008.
They have exported puppies to Australia, Czech Republic, Poland and Barbados
Throughout this period continued to participate in the breed as a Husband
and Wife partnership, as well as Judging many times together at the same
Show in Opposite rings both in UK and Overseas.
Has owned and shown both sexes. Has owned and exhibited practically all
colours. E.g. Red, Gold, Brindle, Blue, Black, Black and Tan,
Currently have 4 Afghans in their ownership. Has no preference for any one
colour.
Owners of two Dual champions, one Am CH and ENG CH, the other ENG and IR CH
Owner of two Afghans each attaining Double Junior Warrants.
Won the very first class of the first CH show held by the Western Afghan
Club
Awarded the CC and Best of Breed, to a Male, just out of Puppy, at Paignton,
who was at that time the youngest Afghan ever to have won a CC
Operates as a Breed Specialist, as Exhibitor, Breeder, Examiner, and
International Judge. In the past has been a Steward as well as a Referee
SPECIALISES IN
The early History of the breed concerning Mary Amps and Manson Hounds,
together with their disputes. The anomalies and Cover-Ups by the respective
Committees in the Breed Standards from 1925 until KC recognised one Type.
Also the mysteries surrounding Zardin and Sirdar with the reason for the
change as the Breed Role model

Judges who fail to run dogs round in each class at the start.
Judges who fail to properly consider the lower class winners when making
their decision for the ticket.
Judges who are just head or colour conscious.
