MY FIRST WEEK by SOPHIE

Just a little update to let you know how things are going in Worcestershire. I thought you would all like to know as everyone was so worried about my old pack being in kennels.

Firstly, Mom changed my name as she couldn’t seem to call me Saffie. For some reason she kept calling me Sophie.  I always answered to Sophie so we decided to keep the new name.

There are lots of comfy places to sleep here, I just please myself and no one seems to mind.  I like it best on Mom’s bed, but get too hot sometimes so now she has turned the heating down and opened the windows in the bedroom.  Not sure why, but she has now vanished under the covers.  It’s a good job she has a king size bed else she might have to sleep on the floor.

I’m having two meals a day.  We all have Nature Diet mixed with our biscuits, last night it was prawn and salmon and some days we have had real chicken.  For desert we all have tripe sticks, I just love them.  Also I get lots of other treats and now I know where they are kept I can remind everyone by barking when it’s time for another.  Also when my doggy minders come in and let us out at lunch time we all get to have another biscuit.  Heard Mom say we will have to keep an eye on my weight the volume of food I’m eating.

I get two walks at day and building up slowly and now I’m getting more mobile.  I’ve been walking around the block and have been to the park.  I love the park, lots of lovely smells and new friends human, furry and ducks.  One puppy got a bit lively with me so I curled my lip at him and he got the message thankfully.  Caught a glimpse of the neighbour’s cat and had a good look, but not bothered at the moment to chase it.  Mom got laughed at again in the park as the humans said “Not another dog” and they all laughed?

Went to meet my new Grandmother on Sunday, she has lots of goodies there and also a cat, which I wasn’t allowed to meet.  Can’t think why???  My human sister and her boyfriend came round on Sunday for lunch and I spent my afternoon lying on her boyfriend whilst he stroked me.  I just love him. The step grandkids came too and they loved me too.

My furry family all are all getting along okay with me we sniff each other a bit and have not had any problems yet.  The puppies are banished from the lounge when they get rowdy in case they jump on me.  I wish I had their energy.

Mom went to Yvonne’s as Charlie was being shown at the Manchester show in Stafford (Mom’s too scared to go in the show ring so poor old Yvonne gets lumbered), which is not far for us.  I had my other doggy minder stay with me this time as she was going to be out for a long time.  She talks to me as if I know what she’s saying and I sort of do understand. She thought I was lovely and so I took advantage and hogged the limelight. Charlie got 2nd place in Junior Bitch to Moms amazement.

Had a bath on Tuesday along with Holly to keep me company, it was a bit of a disaster Mom said just to cut shave out my knots, but I came out looking and smelling the same as I went in.  Mom gave the groomers a bit of a telling off and unfortunately we both had to go back the next day to be “put right” so now I smell and look so much better.  Not sure about the bow at my age, might be accused of looking like mutton dressed as lamb.  Mom liked the look of me so as she didn’t take me out in them I thought I would humour her.

I’m now playing as well, I love to shake furry things to death and I’m now trotting round the place like a puppy.  I’m so much more agile than I used to be.  Must be the new regime of walking, diet and of course cuddles on demand.

I think that’s all for now from Worcestershire alias PAWCESTERSHIRE, will be in touch soon.  I must get back to what I do best, demanding more food and cuddles.

 Love

 Sophie
